Reconstruct the ramparts and gates of Mulhouse in KAPLA®
Created in 1864, the Historical Museum has very rich collections, composed in particular of furniture and costumes, tools and toys, plans and portraits, etc., with in particular the famous Klapperstein, the statue of the Savage, marottes or reconstructions of interiors (bedroom and kitchen of the Sundgau). Since 1969 the Historical Museum has been housed in the former City Hall of Mulhouse, which nevertheless retains some of its former official functions: the Grand Council Hall still hosts weddings and council meetings (this is probably the only museum in this case). Next to the areas dedicated to the permanent collections, the museum has places for entertainment and temporary exhibitions, in the hall of the Décapole and the Grenier d'Abondance. The thematic itinerary offered to visitors thus puts into perspective the history of Mulhouse, while making discover the art of living of Alsatians of the past.
