Guided tour of the high school Elisée Reclus and Paul Broca, by the students!
In Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, the current high school was built in the late 1950s under the direction of Pierre Mathieu (1911-1997), chief architect of civil buildings and national palaces. Built in the middle of the baby boom, it was to accommodate the students of secondary education too cramped in the old local elementary school. Inaugurated on April 10, 1960, it later took the name Elisée-Reclus. In 1994, the school joined the Lycée professionnel Paul-Broca, which remained in the premises of the primary school. On this occasion, the Region undertakes a major restructuring, entrusted to the architects Claude Marty and Jean-Louis Corsenac who create the new facade on Verdun Avenue. High school students will make the public discover the history of the school, in connection with the evolution of school architecture, and the works of art made by Hugues Maurin and Paul Corriger in the 1960s.
