Visit of an old luxury brush factory
In the Belle-Époque, the luxury brushes of Tracy-le-Mont, are exported all over the world. The village is then the cradle of fine brush making. Since 1982, the Association pour le Musée des Brosseries de l'Oise (AMBO) has been preserving and promoting the heritage and memory of the Brossiers de l'Oise (10,000 objects). The volunteers will introduce you to the many facets of fine brush making. Exceptional conditions of visits related to the coronavirus (compulsory mask + hydroalcoholic gel): Guided visits (20 to 30 minutes) on reservation (attention, group of 9 visitors) in the exhibition space of the AMBO on the site of the former brushes Commelin-Brenier (1873/1955). Topics discussed: know-how; women’s home work, paternalism, presentation of collections (bone toothbrushes, ivory whisker brushes or olive or ebony head brushes, tools and machines, etc.)
