Look up: history and memory from 1940 to 1945
The camp of Ban Saint-Jean (= BSJ) rises from its ashes. A very harmless sentence. But it is necessary to put on this expression its literal meaning to apprehend all the truth. The ashes of the thousands of victims of the BSJ between 1941 and 1944 helped rekindle the flame of remembrance in the minds and hearts to impose this high place of memory on the collective consciousness. If the BSJ plunged into barbarism between 1941 and 1944, it is desirable to trace its entire history from its creation until today. Created in 2004, the Franco-Ukrainian Association campaigns for the rehabilitation of the Charnier du Ban Saint-Jean and the safeguarding of the memory of the victims.
