The Saint-Étienne Cathedral in Toulouse, atypical and surprising, offers a juxtaposition of styles and elements as rich as varied, witnesses of its history. With its architecture spread over several centuries and mixing styles, and its little air a little Guingois, this cathedral is also worth a visit for its organs, which seem to hang in the air. Unusual, complex, eclectic: so many adjectives that define the style of this cathedral existing since the fifth century. The present building was built mainly in the thirteenth century. This incredible «unfinished» construction combines two Gothic styles: the Southern Gothic, massive and powerful, and the Northern Gothic, slender and luminous. One is seduced by the richly carved stalls, the baroque high altar, the grilles and the set of stained glass windows.
