More than 150 years of history: Les Moulins de Versailles, a history of millers for several generations. Chaudé", our last name, would mean "grind grain" in Langue d'Oc. After the Moulin d'Étampes, there was that of Yerres which worked with hydraulic energy. In 1905 the Chaudé family left its water mills to build in Versailles one of the first steam mills. In 1937, steam mills were converted into electric mills. After more than a century, the Moulins de Versailles remain one of the last craft industries still in operation in the heart of Versailles. Close to you, the Local Mill: In an eco-responsible approach, the excellent terroirs where our wheat grows are located in an average radius of less than 100 km around the Mill.
