Created in 1819, this year the Natural History Museum of Marseilles celebrates its 200 years and the 150 years of its installation at the Palais Longchamp inaugurated in 1869\\. This double anniversary is an opportunity to rethink the Museum’s permanent exhibition spaces in the context of the 21st century to offer visitors a resolutely contemporary vision of the natural heritage. This overhaul of the museum’s first-level rooms combined with enhanced maintenance work on the interior of the building will result in the closure of the Museum’s rooms until October 18, 2019. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 9am to 6pm. Closed weekly on Mondays, except Easter Mondays and Pentecost Mondays. Closed on 1 January, 1 May, 1 and 11 November, 25 and 26 December.
