Formerly a vineyard house located in Salins-les-Bains, in the Jura department, the Maison de Salins saw the birth of Crédit Agricole in 1885\\. The first agricultural union in the borough of Poligny, which would later become the first local caisse of Crédit Agricole, is located within its walls. In 2015, Crédit Agricole de Franche-Comté bought the building and two years later donated it to the foundation that bears its name. The Maison de Salins Foundation is a corporate foundation of general interest, composed of 34 entities of the Crédit Agricole* group whose mission is to promote knowledge related to the history of the cooperative movement, across all sectors of activity. Preserving the archives: the Maison de Salins Foundation digitizes, studies and operates for scientific and cultural purposes the historical archives of any cooperative company wishing to become a partner in the project.
