Photographic exhibition of the restorations of the Villa des Cent Regards
Do you know «La Villa des Cent Regards» nestled in the district of Aiguelongue, north of Montpellier? It was built in the 1950s by a particularly imaginative Italian mason. Victor Grazi was born in Lombardy 1896\\. In 1921, he married Ida Boldini, a native of the same village. Both left Italy in 1922, fleeing fascism and stayed a few years in Isère, before settling in the Montpellier countryside of Aiguelongue. Victor Grazi works as a mason, and in the evening studies by correspondence the courses of the Superior School of Reinforced Concrete of Rome. This mason is passionate about the technique of reinforced concrete: beams, beams, complicated formwork… Around 1950, Victor Grazi, now owner of a land, can realize the house of his dreams.
