In 832, a church bearing the name of Saint-Hilaire already existed at this location. It bore the name of the bishop of Poitiers and patron saint of merchants. Destroyed in 1675 by the marshal of Créqui, it was rebuilt on plans by Vauban in 1682\\. The nave and choir were completed in 1702. Inside, beautiful 18th century woodwork, representing the Franciscan order, come from the old church of the Recollets. The stained glass windows were redone in 1970. Today, you can admire the new stained glass windows thanks to the Association of Friends of Religious Heritage Givetois and the financial assistance of the municipality.
