The old(former) abbey church of Clairac (of the XIIth century, altered in the XVIIth century), become parish church under the auspices of Saint Peter(dory), knows a history(story) badly banal. It is joined in the Basilica of Saint John Lateran in Rome since Henry IV. The future king of France, in security of his conversion in Catholicism, gives to the pope the incomes of the rich abbey of Clairac. The kings of France and the presidents of French Republic can take advantage(boast), even today, of the title of honorary canon of Saint-Jean-de-Latran.
