"Izieu’s house is one of three places of national memory of the victims of racist and anti-Semitic persecutions where 44 children and 7 adults were rounded up on April 6, 1944\\. On this unique site, two buildings are visited: the house and the permanent exhibition. Through the content of its exhibition and its activities, the memorial aims to contribute to the defence of dignity, rights and justice, and to fight against all forms of intolerance and racism. 1 hour from Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy and Bourg-en-Bresse, the Izieu house welcomes 30,000 visitors, including nearly 14,000 school children a year, and offers guided tours of the house and the permanent exhibition divided into three themes: history, international justice and the construction of memory.
