Aperçu

The Château d'Ouge was built in 1553\\. The seigneurial dwelling known here as the castle was built in the middle of the 16th century. It is therefore of Renaissance period but what characterizes it is its still medieval aspect: its towers pierced with shooting embrasures and its pretèche above the entrance of the octagonal staircase tower give it its defensive aspect. Its large windows were opened in the 19th century to bring the light it lacked. Since 1982, the estate has been reorganizing parks and gardens for pleasure. Today, it is flanked by five separate garden spaces: * the Renaissance garden * the French garden * the Asian garden * the English park * the new arboretum The visitor will discover the history of the house and the gardens. He will be able to recognize plants through systematic labelling and admire the unique oak collection. On Friday, the gardens will welcome the school public.
