The church of Saint-Pierre de la Sauve Majeure (13th - 16th century) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the Camino de Santiago. It is a jewel, a legacy of cathedral builders. It is beautifully decorated with murals and preserves the relics of Saint Gerard. The history of the Saint-Pierre church is closely linked to that of the Benedictine abbey founded by Saint Gerard. It is built in the middle of an elevated cemetery, bounded by three 16th century Gothic crosses.
