Strengthened Site and castle of the Lords of Castle-Renault based(established) in the Xth century and rebuilt in the course of the XIIth, XIIIth and XIVth centuries. The domain includes a Romanic donjon (1160), a door strengthened by the XIIIth and XIVth centuries (current Clock tower), one orangery of the XIXth century, of common(shared) the XVIIIth century, a manorial home, gardens, a new rose garden and an old(former) sported park. Based(Established) by the Lords Guicher de Château-Renault in the Xth century, he was property of the counts of Blois, of the family of Orléans, and from the XVIth century, of the family Rousselet. The manorial home keeps(preserves) in several places the coat of arms of the famous vice-admiral François-Louis Rousselet, thinks "Chateauregnault", believer(regular customer) of the king Louis XIV. In the XIXth century, the site becomes property of the family Calmon, which gives it in 1948 in the city of Castle-Renault. The medieval cellars saved(spared) by diverse fires of the castle open to the visitors in several subterranean metres.
