Come travel, go back in time, discovering the history of the romantic neo-Gothic pavilion of the Ch…
The domain of Scopont consists of four entities: the castle, the orangery, the pavilion and its strong point, its park. The oldest remains of the castle date back to the fifteenth century. The castle, renovated in the eighteenth century, houses a living room decorated with gypsy rocks. In the 19th century, it became the birthplace of the Société Archéologique du Midi de la France and was completed by the neoclassical orangery. The park houses the Neo-Gothic pavilion that protects elements of medieval sculptures from post-revolutionary demolitions. These elements are today important pieces of the Augustinian Museum of the cloister of the Jacobins in Toulouse. The wooded park serves as a refuge for protected plant and animal species, thus contributing to the preservation of the biodiversity of our territory. It also plays a crucial role in protecting endangered species, such as the Rome hyacinth.
