Founded in 1890, the Cercle de l'Harmonie is a Provençal historical association that has participated for more than five generations in the civic and cultural life of the City of Aubagne and the territory of the Pays d'Aubagne and the Étoile. Its vision is based on humanistic values, social cohesion, gender diversity and intergenerational solidarity and is based on the principles of action of Popular Education and the Social and Solidarity Economy. Inscribed in the long history of the Cercles Républicains de Provence, drawing their origin in the 19th century in the «chambreto», places of meeting and sociability*, the Cercle de l'Harmonie is named in reference to the founding musicians of the Cercle. *"Les Cercles, une sociabilité en Provence" by Pierre Chabert.
