Discovery of the mudflats of the badamiers and its environment in traditional canoe in small land
The Badamiers mudflat is located in Petite-Terre, between the industrial area of Badamiers and the port of Petite-Terre. It is a particular and unique coastal lagoon, fed with both fresh water by the watersheds and salt water by the gaps with the lagoon. It has been designated a RAMSAR site for its importance as a wetland of international interest since 2011\\. The badamiers mudflat is formed by a sediment cord connecting two terrestrial areas. The landscape varies with the tides and seasons. Dry or wet, lunar or navy blue, a brackish body of water. Two islets Le Morne de la Mirandole and Le Morne des 25 m dominate the mudflat and give an original landscape to this wetland. A protected site that engorges a wealth. It is also the first place of residence of the population of Petite-Terre and is home to the archaeological site of Bagamoyo.
