In the immediate vicinity of the port of Ile Rousse, the islands of Pietra are an emblematic and picturesque landscape of Corsica. Their cut-out silhouettes, almost entirely red on the intense blue of the sea, carrying at the top a lighthouse all white give it an undeniable aesthetic dimension. The construction of the lighthouse of Pietra responds to a need for signage of the port, in the middle of the nineteenth century while trade is growing, under the impulse of the French administration... Inside the lighthouse, you can discover a museum space composed of three interpretation rooms that testify to the history of the island of Pietra and the lighthouse.
Access
Du parking de la Pietra rejoindre le phare (10 mn de marche). L’ancienne voie d’accès au phare permet d’y accéder à pied, ce qui constitue une jolie promenade offrant un beau panorama sur la côte, la ville de l’Ile Rousse et le large. Les îlots ne sont pas accessibles au promeneur.
