MONUMENTS AND MEMORY OF GERNIKA

Today, Gernika is a symbol of peace. Here, memory serves the purpose of reconciliation, and through a process that began in the 1980s, the city has gradually been populated with various monuments. Accompanied by artists such as Eduardo Chillida, Henry Moore, and Néstor Basterretxea, among others, we will tour the town and let its monuments speak to us, telling the story of what happened through materials like stone, bronze, steel, or brick.

MONUMENTOS Y MEMORIA DE GERNIKA

Gernika es hoy en día un símbolo de paz. Aquí, la memoria está al servicio de la reconciliación y mediante un proceso iniciado en los años 80 la ciudad se ha ido poblando de distintos monumentos. De la mano de artistas como Eduardo Chillida, Henry Moore o Néstor Basterretxea, entre otros, iremos recorriendo la villa y dejaremos que sus monumentos nos hablen y nos cuenten lo que sucedió a través de materiales como la piedra, el bronce, el acero o el ladrillo.

GERNIKAKO MONUMENTUAK ETA MEMORIA 

Gernika gaur egun bakearen ikur bihurtu da. Hemen memoria, adiskidetzearen menpe dago eta 80ko hamarkadan hasitako prozesuaren bitartez monumentu zenbait jarri dira hirian. Eduardo Chillida, Henry Moore edo Nestor Basterretxearen eskutik, besteak beste, hiria ezagutzen joango gara. Aurkituko ditugun monumentuei hitza emango diegu eta harria, brontzea, altzairua edo adreiluaren bitartez hemen gertatu zena kontatuko digute.
