This tour covers some of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Urdaibai, with the captivating theme of the military conflicts they have endured throughout their history as its central thread.
We will relive the ferocious pirate attacks on Bermeo and the island of Izaro in the 16th century, the story from the hermitage of Santa Katalina in Mundaka, the preparations for the forgotten War of the Convention, the challenges of the Napoleonic invasion in Bermeo’s old town and Ercilla Tower, the port and the town, and two decisive events of the Civil War: the naval battle of Matxitxako and the battle of Sollube. These fascinating stories will come to life as we explore the spectacular settings of Bermeo and the Matxitxako lighthouse.

Esta visita recorre algunos de los escenarios naturales más bellos de Urdaibai y tiene su hilo conductor en la apasionante temática de los conflictos bélicos que han sufrido a lo largo de su historia.
Los feroces ataques corsarios a Bermeo y la isla de Izaro en el S. XVI y el relato desde la ermita de Santa Katalina de Mundaka, los preparativos para la olvidada Guerra de la Convención, las vicisitudes de la invasión napoleónica en Bermeo en el casco viejo y la torre de Ercilla, el puerto y la villa, y dos lances decisivos en la guerra civil: la batalla naval de Matxitxako y la batalla de Sollube, son los apasionantes relatos que vamos a revivir en los espectaculares entornos de Bermeo y el faro de Matxitxako.
