🇩🇪 Guided tour of a work of the Maginot line in French and German
Hidden in the bowels of a limestone hill south of the village of Lembach, this imposing concrete and steel building is a remarkable witness of the Second World War. Built between 1930 and 1935 to protect the Franco-German border and perfectly preserved, it still houses many period equipment. Its unique layout allows visitors to dive 30 meters underground and reach the lower gallery by means of the staircase of the inclined plane of 215 steps, before coming out through the entrance of the ammunition, revealing the mysteries of military life at the time with captivating intensity. This artillery work, whose name remains anonymous, offers a singular immersion in history.
