Discover the abbey of Loc-Dieu!
Loc-Dieu is a rare example of a Cistercian estate transformed into a romantic park in the nineteenth century, around monastic buildings almost entirely and familiarly inhabited. The history of these buildings, of their restoration, of the family dedicated to them accompanies the visitor. A monumental vestibule, then the cloister, the chapter hall and finally the magnificent 12th century abbey allow to go back the centuries... The church once housed the paintings of the Louvre during the War of 1940\\. An exhibition of "transfigured jocwaves" in the chapter room recalls this moment. The park is an oasis in the middle of the Causse as a result of a geological particularity: springs, a pond, a cave-wash, large trees, a forest of pines. Exceptional opening of a Gothic room and the staff dining room.
