The association Les Amis de l'Abbaye, created in 1966, brings together about twenty volunteers working to ensure the preservation, enhancement and promotion of the abbey of Montbenoît, an architectural ensemble whose origins date back to the mid-12th century. Its volunteers participate in the reception of visitors, provide guided tours and work, alongside the 5 municipalities that own the building, to maintain this very rich heritage. In addition, the Friends of the Abbey train young guides who, during school holidays, accompany visitors in the discovery of the monument and its history.
