Inaugurated in 1867, the Hotel du département et de la Préfecture was the setting for several major political events, including the installation of the head of the executive power of the Republic in 1871\\. Its composition between courtyard and garden follows the principles of the mansion and its sober style meets the needs of the public administration. The prestigious rooms, located in the main body of the building, feature ornate ceilings and furnishings that bear witness to art at the end of the 19th century.
