Monforte del Cid, in the province of Alicante, is a municipality of great historical and cultural significance. Its heritage reflects the rich legacy of the civilizations that inhabited the region over
the centuries, such as the Iberian, Roman, and medieval cultures. These traces have left a deep mark
on the landscape and local customs, and through various archaeological findings, such as sculptures,
necropolises, and walls, we can understand the stories of ancient societies and learn about our
identity and evolution. The preservation of this heritage is essential not only to maintain our
historical legacy but also to transmit lessons about the passage of time, human interactions, and
collective memory.
In honor of this invaluable heritage, we have developed a project aimed at showcasing five of the
major discoveries of Monforte del Cid. To achieve this, we have designed an interactive experience that uses modern technology, such as QR codes. By scanning these codes with any mobile phone, visitors can access an interactive webpage, specifically designed for each of the monuments or findings, where they will find detailed information about their description, discovery dates, and historical relevance. Additionally, each page includes an interactive quiz and a game that allows users to test what they've learned in a fun and dynamic way.

This project also has great potential to boost cultural tourism in Monforte del Cid. The combination of historical heritage, technology, and accessibility makes this project a unique experience that will attract both locals and international tourists. By offering an engaging and modern way to explore history, the interest in visiting the municipality and learning about its cultural legacy increases. Moreover, the project promotes local pride and strengthens the sense of community by involving residents in the process of spreading and preserving their heritage.

As part of the pilot phase of the project, we conducted a test experience with students from 1st, 2nd,and 3rd of Secondary Education, as well as 5th and 6th graders. The children were provided with mobile phones with pre-installed QR codes and were shown how to scan them to access the
information. The students read the content and participated in the interactive quizzes and games,
which allowed them to learn about the monuments in a fun way. The results were highly positive, as the students showed great interest and enjoyment during the activity, proving that this dynamic and accessible approach is effective in engaging new generations in heritage knowledge. Additionally, it was observed that the use of technology made the experience more attractive and memorable for the children.
