Each year, from August to November, European Heritage Days opens the doors to nearly 70,000 cultural events across 48 European countries. These events attract up to 20 million visitors annually, offering free access to monuments, historical buildings, and cultural sites. The program encourages shared understanding and active participation in the protection of Europe’s collective cultural identity.
The EHD website acts as the central information hub for these events, enabling the public to explore cultural programs, access historical content, and stay updated on heritage initiatives. With an archive of over 200,000 events, the site has become an essential tool for cultural institutions, event organizers, and heritage enthusiasts.
Project Scope
The Council is seeking a qualified contractor to take over the technical upkeep and enhancement of the European Heritage Days website. The selected provider will be responsible for:
- Maintenance: Ensuring website stability through regular updates, bug fixes, and technical support.
- Development: Improving user experience with new features, updated interfaces, and performance upgrades.
- Hosting: Delivering secure, scalable hosting to support current usage and future growth.
