Kirkcaldy Community Gardens & Allotments (Ravenscraig)
14 September 2025 (10:00 - 15:00)
Visiting the walled garden and allotments including our newly renovated buildings, allotments and wildlife areas. Our Community Garden Allotment site is in its 15th year and has been managed to ensure suitability for allotment growers as well as local user groups including: Nursery, Primary and Secondary school pupils, disabled adults and volunteers.
It incorporates the local green-space improvement group, Growing Kirkcaldy, and part of Greener Kirkcaldy, while Rural Skills Scotland are developing several on-site buildings. A feature of our whole-site management is to provide a diversity of habitats for nature and has informed the creation of our wildlife pond and other managed habitats.
We have extensive planted flower beds which provide food stations for bees, butterflies and other insects and feeding stations and nest boxes to support birds. Paths will take visitors around and through the garden and allotments.
Our out-buildings at the entrance to the site have recently been renovated and it is hoped that we may be able to open these to allow visitors to view them on our Doors Open day.
Paths will take visitors around the gardens and allotments and children are welcome to visit and enjoy the walks.
Tours will be offered on request but will not be set to a particular schedule.
