Maryculter Trinity Church was formed by the coming together of Banchory-Devenick, Cookney and Maryculter parishes. The history is extensive with the earliest parish being created in 1163 and Maryculter parish having links to the Knights Templar.
The current church building was built in 1787. It has had several extensions, 1882, 1959/60 and 2006 with work carried out through 2016/17 to modernise the building that is used by the congregation of Maryculter Trinity Church from all over the three original parishes to meet and join in praise of the Lord together.
Come and see the result, read about the history, see our fine stained-glass windows and find out what goes on here at Maryculter Trinity Church.
Over the weekend visitors will be provided with insights regarding the history and renovations done to the Church to bring it to its current structure. Booklets will be provided informing of the history of the graveyard, display of interviews with people who hold roles within the Church and of Church history and current activities.
Refreshments will be available so please enjoy this opportunity to reflect on your Doors Open Days experiences.
