Live Life Aberdeenshire Libraries facility is a purpose-built headquarters with the local public library on site. The building is the central distribution point for the circulation of books and resources to the 34 libraries across Aberdeenshire. This working warehouse is the hub of the service, also providing resources to primary and academy schools, HMP Grampian, Care Homes, and to our Doorstep Delivery customers.
The headquarters is also home to Live Life Aberdeenshire’s Local Studies department which has a wealth of resources available to those with an interest in exploring their local and community heritage, including a collection of local themed books, newspapers, photographs, maps, and many resources to support genealogy research.
Live Life Aberdeenshire Libraries provide customers with access to a wealth of information and access to reading to support lifelong learning for current and future readers. The Local Studies Centre has resources available to those with an interest in exploring their past and local and community heritage.
There will be an excellent opportunity to purchase stock withdrawn from the catalogue, both non-fiction and fiction. There will be print books, audio books. Local history books, maps and CDs, so come along and grab a bargain. Drop-in anytime between 10am and 4pm.
In addition to the book sale the library headquarters will also be offering tours of the building and Local Studies Centre. As part of the tour, delve into the past with the Local Studies team and browse their historical resources.
