Language Taster: Traditional Flavors & Recipes in Catalonia, Spain & Italy
Join us for an interactive workshop to discover the origin and traditions around a selection of popular dishes enjoyed in each season of the year in Catalonia, Spain and Italy.
You will:
- spot similarities and differences among the dishes from each country
- learn essential vocabulary and expressions to refer to basic ingredients as well as the simple instructions to prepare the dishes
- familiarize with the simple steps to prepare the dishes and be inspired to recreate your favorite one(s) at home for family and friends or just for yourselves!
- be inspired to grow your own herbs at home to give a Mediterranean flavour to your own cooking and by discovering that you have green fingers after all!
It will be an enjoyable language and culture learning experience with us in the University of Glasgow School of Modern Languages & Cultures (SMLC) and an occasion to find out about dishes and conviviality of meals in these Mediterranean countries' culinary tradition.
This event is for participants aged 12+
