House of Tongue was built by Lord Reay in 1678, on the site of an earlier dwelling destroyed by forces loyal to Cromwell. Additions in the 18th and 19th century and a significant garden wall help give this stone-built house its unique and unusual character, demonstrating 300 years of style and technique in different sections of the exterior.
No step-free access, but steps are small: no more than two per flight in the building and a flight of six to access the garden
