Get Glasgow Moving at Festival Hub
20 September 2025 (10:00 - 16:00)
The Future of Glasgow’s Public Transport
Glasgow stands at the threshold of change, to build a climate resilient, equitable city for the next 850 years.
We will be screening a new animation by Sooz Reilly presenting our vision for the transformation of bus services in the city followed by a Q&A and panel discussion.
This event is timely: it follows the recent decision by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (the regional transport authority) to proceed with bus franchising (as rolled out already in Greater Manchester with the ‘Bee Network’) and a public operator.
The people of Glasgow have the power to shape the future of our public transport network and this event aims to raise public awareness of what we need to do together to ensure this bold vision is delivered.
An earlier animation commissioned for Get Glasgow Moving (3 years ago) can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BkMn1xpLQ0
Overview
Get Glasgow Moving is the grassroots regional public transport campaign founded in 2016 by local people. The campaign aims to achieve a fully integrated, affordable and accessible publicly owned and delivered public transport system for Glasgow and the wider Strathclyde region.
We have several hundred members and thousands of supporters. Day to day running of the campaign is led by a volunteer management committee elected at the AGM.
