Dalkeith Museum
13 September 2025 (10:30 - 15:30)
Dalkeith Museum is a small independent museum, fully accredited by Museum Galleries Scotland. It is located in the rear of the Grade A listed Dalkeith Corn Exchange – at one time, the largest in Scotland. The museum is totally run by a team of volunteers on behalf of Dalkeith History Society. It provides a welcoming open space where visitors can discover the often under-estimated and under-told history of a once vibrant market town.
Our permanent collection explores living and working in Dalkeith in the past and reflects the tools and equipment that kept the wheels of this vibrant, market community turning.
Step back in time and see Dalkeith at War, at School, at Work, at Leisure and see a Sustainable Dalkeith - local shops, local food and local transport.
21st September: Additional Guided Walk to raise funds for Dalkeith Museum (£12): Join us for a guided walk exploring Dalkeith from the Duke's Gates to the cemetery Watch Tower. Starting at 2pm, and including tea and baked goods at the museum - booking required.
