Bellahouston Park History Walk
This is a guided walk lasting about 90 minutes with about 30 minutes walking and 16 stops.
It will cover many aspects of the fascinating history of the area of Bellahouston Park, starting from earliest times, through farming and coal mining, to the formation of the park, and then to events in and around the park up to the present day.
This includes the Bellahouston Hospital (1915); the Empire Exhibition (1938); and the Scottish Water tunnelling project (2024).
The walk is led by Drew McMahon.

Toilet Facilities and Refreshments are available at Bellahouston Sports Centre
Vehicle and Bike Parking is available around Mosspark Boulevard.
The trail route is all on tarmac or well-made paths and so is fully wheelchair accessible. The route does go to the top of Bellahouston Park Hill, which involves ascending some moderate gradients, but this will be done at a gentle pace, with a number of stops, to help any slower-moving participants.
