Abbot House is Dunfermline’s oldest house dating back over 500 years, to at least the 16thC, and is the jewel in the crown of Scotland’s ancient capital. With its distinctive pink colour, it is an architectural gem, full of character and unique features.
The building has undergone many changes over the centuries and has been home and workplace to a wide range of people. It currently provides studio spaces for local designers and craft makers, and room hire for workshops and events.
Our ‘pink hoose’ offers many distinctive features that have been added over the centuries, including a ‘1500s’ wall fresco and mural by the renowned Scottish artist and writer, Alasdair Gray.
You can also enjoy our beautiful artisan gift shop and independent coffee shop, ‘Prost’, where you can sit and enjoy the special features of the house and garden.

Seating is available throughout the house. On Street Parking.
