⚡ Behind the scenes of the Fumel hydroelectric power plant

Still in operation after more than 80 years of service, the Fumel hydropower plant continues to produce 100% renewable energy, more valuable than ever in the current energy context. Built on a river by the company Pont-à-Mousson, then owner of the metallurgical factory in Fumel, the plant was created in the post-war period to meet the enormous needs related to the reconstruction of the country. Exceptionally open to the public, this guided tour by the Tourist Office will allow you to discover:

• the impressive Kaplan turbines, real collector’s pieces,
• and the work in progress to replace the dampers of the dam. 👉 An exciting immersion in an iconic place of industrial heritage!
