As part of the Journées du Matrimoine, the musicians of the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est pay tribute to female composers. From Fanny Mendelssohn to the contemporaries, their program crosses two centuries of string quartet history and singular inspiration. Thus, if the American Amy Beach incorporates Inuit melodies into her Quartet op. 89, his compatriot Caroline Shaw evokes in Evergreen the Canadian island of Galiano. The program also includes a work by Noriko Baba, composer associated with the Cité musicale-Metz, unpublished in this version for string quartet.
