Campsie Gallery, Craigend Stables
27 September 2025 (11:00 - 17:00) 28 September 2025 (11:00 - 17:00) Set within Mugdock Country Park, Craigend Stables formed part of the Craigend Castle estate. Although Gothic Craigend Castle is now a Building at Risk, the stables are still in use as home to the popular Mugdock Country Park Visitors Centre. Dating from 1812, this Category B Listed square-plan building combines stables, coach house and steading. It has a semi-circular bull pen to the west, a 2-storey north range with a circular turret, which was possibly a dove-cot. This Doors Open Days, visitors can visit the new Campsie Gallery, within Mugdock Country Park’s Visitors Centre and enjoy 'Tranquility & Ruin', a photographic exhibition by Shane Simmons. This exhibition features a series of black and white photographs which are paired with original poetry. The images invite the viewer to step into a moment of solitude, reflection, and renewal.
