The 100 Motifs exhibition at the Horta Museum offers a fascinating immersion into the rich world of Art Deco through a hundred emblematic motifs. Bold geometric shapes, clean lines, exotic inspirations... Each motif tells a story, that of an era in the throes of change, where art was taking over interiors and making them spaces that were both functional and elegant. Through a selection of objects, archival sketches and decorative elements, the exhibition explores how these motifs reveal the tastes and concerns of a world undergoing transformation. The Horta Museum is organising guided tours of the exhibition, as well as an intergenerational guided tour followed by a free workshop and a snack. This activity invites participants of all generations to explore the links between past and present, between what’s "in" and what’s "out". The guided tour will take you on a journey through the motifs in the exhibition, revealing how certain symbols are passed on or transformed over time, while the free workshop will enable you to create a personal motif inspired by Art Deco forms and memories shared between generations. An enjoyable get-together will bring the experience to a close, offering an opportunity to discuss transmission, the evolution of interiors and the invisible threads that link people across the ages. "Behind-the-scenes" guided tours will take place on Saturday at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm (duration 45min, maximum 15 people per departure).
