This walk invites you to discover the social and human history, since the 19th century, of the municipalities crossed by the canal. Anderlecht and the Cureghem district were born of the industrial boom and the arrival of workers from central Brussels, other parts of the country and all over the world, in search of a better future. The walk takes you through fifteen stages, introducing you to remarkable buildings, trades, historical events and social and political struggles. Throughout the route, the Senne is never far away. We are offering two tours of our brand new Promenade Canal Populaire: 10.00 - 11.30 am: first part of the walk NL 1.00 - 2.30 pm: second part of the walk FR Bart, our bilingual guide and animator, will be in charge of the tours. In collaboration with COOP.
