Aperçu

The world of Art Deco objects spans thousands of creations in all areas of life. This style revolutionised an existing perception of art and industry. For the first time, it appealed to different social classes, not just the elite, and blurred the hierarchy between decorative and industrial arts. As a result, the breadth of its work ranged from pressed glass vases to Van Cleef & Arpels creations, and from promotional posters to designs registered with the Conseil des Prud’hommes. As part of Heritage Days, La Fonderie is reopening part of its reserves to the public, with a special focus on Art Deco creations. A selection of objects will be on display in our permanent exhibition areas, where a specialist guide will accompany you to reveal the full richness and innovation of the Art Deco style. The guide at La Fonderie will provide explanations in French continuously. Photographs are permitted, but without a flash.
