Aperçu

Named after its last owner, this four-sided Art Deco villa was built in 1922 to plans by architect Antoine Pompe. However, the half-timbered gables are reminiscent of the Tudor style, as are the high, star-shaped chimneys, while there is also a reference to the Cottage style favoured by the master builder, which can be seen in other of his creations, such as the Maison Stevens in Watermael-Boitsfort. The building, with its massive silhouette, is generally L-shaped, with the longest wing perpendicular to the street frontage. The irregularly-pierced facades, with two modest bow windows, one on either side of the left-hand corner, are covered in white rendering and sit on a ground floor marked by irregular stonework. In 1937, architects Adrien and Yvan Blomme made minor modifications to the building The garden was redesigned according to plans by Jules Buyssens in 1934.
