Funerary Art of the Interwar Period at the Ernest Salu Workshop and House
The non-profit organisation Epitaaf is using its plaster collections and archives to organise an exhibition on the production of funerary art in the 1920s and 1930s. Atelier Ernest Salu is a former sculptor's workshop specialising in the creation of funerary art. The workshop was founded by Ernest Salu in 1872. His son, Ernest Salu II, took over the company circa 1909 and ran it for several decades, including between the wars. The non-profit organisation Epitaaf manages this workshop and the adjoining house, and has plaster models and archive documents, which it will exhibit and accompany with texts and explanations. Photographs are permitted, but only with smartphones.
