Here are two centenaries being celebrated in 2025: Art Deco style and Tram 39. The tram links the city centre with what were then districts undergoing urbanisation. And the Art Deco style was used after the turmoil of the First World War. Along the way, you will come across mansions, detached houses, small apartment buildings and more, all in the style of Art Deco, but sometimes flirting with modernism. After the swirls of Art Nouveau, it was time for straight lines, symmetry, immaculate white facades and deep colours, brick and concrete... Did you ever notice this when you took line 39?
