Aperçu

Born in Mexico and trained mainly in Switzerland and Paris, Michel Polak arrived in Brussels in 1921 at the request of Belgian businessman and property developer Lucien Kaisin. At Kaisin’s request, he worked on the enormous Résidence Palace site. In this "city within a city" that offered its residents a new way of life, he unveiled a luxury and refinement that would characterise his work and be reflected in his other creations. Luxury hotels, palaces, cinemas and, above all, the unmissable Villa Empain - his creations speak for themselves and depict an era that is still the stuff of dreams: the Roaring Twenties. By bike, follow the guide as they tell the story of an architect who knew how to combine modernity, luxury and refinement. In collaboration with Pro Velo. Participants must bring their own bikes. For this tour, bicycles are available for hire by reservation only from Pro Velo on 02 502 73 55 or via info@provelo.org (subject to availability). Photographs are permitted, but only with smartphones.
