The home of Lina Cauchie with Alice Graas (fully booked)
This guided tour of the Maison Cauchie focuses on Lina Cauchie, née Caroline Voet. Cauchie, a talented painter, was one of the first women to study at the Académie des Beaux-Arts. The Maison Cauchie is not just Paul's work, but truly a joint venture, as evidenced by the inscription on the facade “Par nous, pour nous” (“By us, for us”). During this visit, Alice Graas will focus on Lina's work and the place of women artists in the Art nouveau era. Alice Graas is an anthropologist and coordinated the Art Nouveau Year 2023. A guide at the Maison Cauchie for almost ten years, she successfully links the feminist theme with that of heritage, highlighting the place of women in history and art history. In collaboration with L'Architecture qui Dégenre and the Maison Cauchie. Photographs are not permitted.
