The engraved rock of Fornols-Haut: a unique testimony of Paleolithic art

Located in the town of Campôme, at 750 m altitude, the rock of Fornols-Haut is hidden in a cedar forest.

Classified as a historical monument in 2008, this engraved rock is the only known evidence of open-air Palaeolithic art in France, and the only representation of Pyrenean cave art. The exhibition traces the history of the discovery of the rock and the work of M. D. Sacchi, while offering the visitor a clear reading of the engravings, often difficult to distinguish for an untrained eye. Informations Free and free admission.
