Wemyss Caves, East Wemyss
14 September 2025 (13:30 - 17:00) Come and see the largest collection of Pictish carvings anywhere - still in the place they were made over 1,500 years ago. Located on a dramatic stretch of Fife coastline overlooking the Firth of Forth, the Wemyss Caves are home to over fifty inscribed symbols, animal figures and a depiction of an early medieval boat. The caves also house several crosses carved by the first Christian missionaries to visit the area and on the cliffs above sit the remains of mediaeval Macduff Castle, once home to the Earls of Fife. Guided tour and open day at the museum. More details on our website. The Museum and two caves are wheelchair accessible. However, the coastal path does have some uneven ground. On Street Parking.
