6 September 2025 (10:30 - 12:30) Inverclyde Tourist Group is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation which undertakes meeting and greeting visitors to Inverclyde including cruise ships at Greenock Ocean Terminal. We provide information on local attractions, businesses and transport. We also conduct tours and talks for groups and host information stalls at The Oak Mall and local festivals and exhibitions. Guided coach tour of South West Inverclyde. Starting with a short talk inside the Old West Kirk on Greenock Esplanade, visitors will then travel by bus to Wemyss Bay Station past the new Ardgowan Distillery building at Inverkip. The bus will return via the coast road past the Cloch Lighthouse to Gourock Station before returning to the Esplanade. Category A-listed Wemyss Bay Station and Old West Kirk plus WW2 murals at Gourock Station and Cloch lighthouse are windows to the past of this area of Inverclyde while modern sculptures Wee Annie and Bobby recall its social history. New public art in the form of murals at Gourock Station and the new building at Ardgowan Distillery exemplify the repurposing and development of buildings and their importance in peoples’ lives and moving forward with new industry. Tour begins and ends at Old West Kirk. Saturday 6th: 10:30am - 12:30pm There is no capacity for wheelchairs on the coach.
